Tenerife’s King of Water Parks
Tenrife's warm climate gave the island a boom in attractions over the past decade. This has increased the number of tourists to the island and has become its main sources of revenue.
The island's location off the north coast of Africa ensures the island receives sunny weather all through the year and a large number of tourists from Europe for their summer hols. UK residents visit the most out of any other European country. It isn’t just the good weather which attracts visitors; it’s the addition of theme parks and attractions to the island making it more favorable for families in the search for fun on their trip.
So which parks are top in Tenerife? Loro Parque is an wildlife attraction with marine life as a main feature, including dolphins, killer whales and penguins. You could also consider Siam Park, a huge water park with some of the most adreneline pumping slides and rides in the world!
Siam Park Tenerife began build during 2004, costing over 52,000,000 euros. Siam Park finally opened in 2008 with a Thai theme running at it's core, with authentic architecture style and culture from Thailand. This style runs throughout the whole park, including its rides and cafes making it the biggest group of Thai buildings outside of Thailand. If you love anything Thai including the culture, then Siam Park is a brilliant place to see as a reminder because the restaurants serve authentic Thai dishes and you can also explore or shop at an traditional Thai floating market.
The park now now holds five world records; the world’s biggest statue of a dragon, the biggest wave machine in the world, largest diversity of slides, world’s biggest Thai architecture outside of Thailand and largest elevation in the lazy river.
Tenerife is naturally the best area for a brilliant water park when considering the geography and topography of the island because it is the result of volcanic activity. There are loads of slopes and hills at the base of the mountain, which sits in the centre of the island. This is a perfect natural start to build water attractions because water slides need the energy of gravity to perform and the top slides come with larger drops. In the end Siam Park Tenerife is home to some of the most adrenaline pumping slides on the planet.
One of the best water slides in Siam Park is the Vulcano, a four person ProSlide Behemoth Bowl slide with a jaw-dropping laser display of an image of a dragon. In all there are a total of 10 water rides in Siam Park, proving to be an amazing experience for fans of water parks and sun.
